In this workshop we will look at some helpful ways to train our abs/torso for many of our core movements!

No matter what style of bellydance you practice/perform, each style must involve understanding technique, proper execution of technique, and focused practice in proper applications of your movements.

This workshop is designed to take participants into a deeper understanding of bellydance movements, their own physical abilities and learn how to bring the two together to achieve their personal goals in bellydance and health.

This workshop focuses on :
- Spine elements for all dance practice
- Postural elements for any style of bellydance
- How to access more space through your spine
- Specific Core Focus - Strength, Stability and Awareness of our Abdominal relationship to our spine for core movements
- Tools/Combinations to build your own personal practice designed for your physical challenges and health maintenance.
- Integration of Conscious Intention - taking your practice beyond the physical to your personal intentions and goals.

We will be looking at many movements from Body Fig. 8's to Bodywaves - training to build the strength and flexibility needed, and proper execution of movements to prevent injury. Plus, combos for practice.

* Bring
- a yoga mat (feel free to bring yoga blocks if you need them)
- WATER! (bring plenty - stay hydrated)
- notebook and pen - for your personal progress notes
- hoodie or yoga blanket *(if needed through warm up and cool down)
